A New Mixtape from Nicky Offenberg, with Album Artwork from Colin Sutherland. Nicky was inspired by old school mixology and psychedelics. “Its new music that pays homage to an offbeat era.” Colin channeled what he was hearing, depicting a clandestine distillery with a 1960′s feel. Throw this mixtape on at your next cocktail party, and try infusing some of our Brenden Susens-Jackson’s (our new mixology contributor) absinthe recipes into your repertoire. Directions below..
A few absinthe remarks and concoctions:
The absinthe used must be made from wormwood, not petite wormwood, which is the common ingredient in many knock off absinthe imitation liqueurs, this is due to the illegality of absinthe in the United States before 2007 and the general lack of public knowledge regarding absinthe.
Absinthe is very high in alcohol content. To be enjoyed properly (and traditionally), it should always be cut with water when served solitarily, or if adding to cocktails the adage “Less is More” is quite applicable. As substitues for Absinthe use Anise based liquors, namely Pernod or Pontarlier.
